The Absence of Women centres on Gerry and Iggy, two labourers from Belfast who are facing the end of their lives talking of the present and thinking of the past. They argue about who has the biggest liver, the names of tube stations and whether they should go back to Belfast or not. This play is about life and its endless possibilities, missed opportunities and how one man’s choice, in one instant, can alter the path of his life forever.



One of the best plays I have seen in ages, it's run has finished at the Lyric in Belfast, but it is currently showing at the Tricycle Theatre in London.

Case Histories...

Late last year and early this year I was zipping back and forth to Edinburgh to work on a BBC drama called 'Case Histories'. They have just finished airing on BBC1. Based on the best selling series of books written by Kate Atkinson. Fantastic production, really enjoyed my time working on it with a lovely crew, and Jason Issacs was a true gentleman...

Martin Lynch's well known play 'Dockers' makes a welcome return to the Lyric Theatre to celebrate it's 30th year since it was first performed here. Working class hero John Graham struggles to bring equality and integrity to the brutal working environment of the Belfast Docks. Showing until the 10th July and featuring another famous Belfast playwright, Marie Jones!
